Bob Herbert believes there is an inherent connection in all forms of art. After a long career in education, his retirement affords him the opportunity to devote full time to art. His subject matter consists of landscapes, bridges, boats, and seascapes mostly from the New Jersey shore area. He concentrates on subjects that are slowly disappearing with the changes in our lifestyle. He has studied with local artists before and after retirement and has taken workshops with nationally known artists. He is an Exhibiting Member of the Guild of Creative Art, The Plein Air Painters of the Jersey Coast, the Art Society of Monmouth County, the Belmar Arts Council, and Rehoboth Art League. His work has appeared in many juried art shows including the American Artists Professional League and Monmouth County Arts Council. He recently won first place in oil at the Monmouth County Office of the Aging and second place in the State of New Jersey.
Many of his works are in private collections.
