“As an artist, I feel like the end product of my drawings and paintings solely relies own my dedication and
passion. Every time I start a new project I feel a sense of tranquility and calmness; I loose track of time, spending
hours on a piece because I am so lost in my work. I am responsible for the work I produce; it is my own artistic
expression and no one else’s. When I create a piece I am driven towards perfection, even though perfection is
not always attainable; a piece is never completed and there can always be changes made to a stroke. Being a
part of the Visual Performance Academy at Red Bank Regional High School has helped me develop new ways to
express myself artistically and has allowed me to grow as an artist. It helped me become an individual who is
self-reliant. Not only can I produce artwork with a certain level of quality, but I can do it on a timeline manner. It
taught me about self-management skills and that the quality of my artwork solely relies on me and my work
ethic. I plan to continue to make art after high school, and utilize all the skills the Studio Art Program has taught
me in the last four years.”
