The Guild of Creative Art
18th Annual EyeSights Open Juried Show
Even though the Guild will not be hosting a physical gallery for this show due the the COVID-19 pandemic, we managed to have an outstanding response from artists submitting their works for our first virtual EyeSights juried show.
Our judges, Bob & Liz McKay, had the unenviable task of choosing from a tremendously diverse group of talented artists and incredible work. Of the 200 entries submitted they selected 126 for the show. Since wall space is not an issue for a virtual show, the judges were given the liberty to accept more works than usual. We thank them for their collaboration and excellent job that they did in judging our show.
Some thoughts from our judges
Once again, Liz and I are humbled to have been asked to jury this exciting show, which features the work of our extremely talented local community of photographers!
What stood out as we viewed the 200 images submitted was how strong all of the work was! It made our job of culling photographs very difficult. So many of the images that did not make it in, could just as easily have been in. We are always impressed by the volume of great work! It is all deserving of merit!
We take this task quite seriously and we spend many hours deciding how we could possibly cut the number of images, almost in half.
When it came to awarding prizes, there were many images that unfortunately were not selected for prizes, that were nearly as deserving as the winners. In some other cases, there were images that could have won awards in more than one category!
We want you all to know how fortunate and proud we feel to be a part of this community of photographers!
Thanks so much to The Guild for entrusting us with this very important and incredibly fun task!
Congratulations are in order for all of the participants! We hope that you all (and many others) will enjoy the show!
All the best,
Robert + Elisabeth McKay
